I missed last month's SAL :( but made it this month! and even finished this one too :)

Design: Winter's Eve
Designer: Country Cottage Needleworks
Fabric: 32 count Amsterdam Blue
Fibers: various Weeks Dye Works, Gentle Arts and DMC
Finished: March 2007
Other Notes: My second ornament and first one I've ever done the finishing on. Thanks to Nicki for the runched ribbon tutorial. Stitched a friend for the front lamb on the back :)

Quarterly Ornament report

I've been bad. I've been stitching and not posting here and then yesterday found I couldn't, so I want to thank Nicki for the renewed invite she sent me (THANKS NICKI). I am trying to do an ornament a month all year and so far so good. As a non-serious stitcher, I'm inspired by all the talent I see here and with each ornament I see, I find myself saying "I want to stitch that one."

MARCH: Christmas Basket Ornament/Theron Traditions(JCS orn1999). One Anchor thread over two made this a major quickie.

FEBRUARY: Winter's Eve/Country Cottage Needleworks (JCSorn2006) Changes galore and I plan to stitch it two more times, all different. The trim on my own house is raspberry and all my moons are blue because I used to have a website called "Once in a Blue Moon"

JANUARY: Spruce Fob/Heart's Content Kit. I'm not sold on this being an ornament just yet, but we'll see.

Another to add to the collection

Well, I just squeeked a finish with this stitching, it's been a busy weekend and it's now 11pm here! Granted it's not a very original choice but I'm really pleased with it, it's a simple design so I didn't change anything as I felt it was best to leave it plain. This is my first SAL and I've really enjoyed seeing everyone else's posts and being part of it.

My first ornament for the SAL!

Yay..I'm in! It's a long weekend here in Australia (Friday being the holiday) so I took advantage of it to stitch this ornament. It's Winter's Eve by Country Cottage Needleworks.
Oh, it's me..Alison in Oz!

My Ornament

Hi there :) I see I am not the only one who has done this ornament! It's so pretty. It's by Country Cottage Needleworks out of the 2006 JCS magazine. I still need to "finish" it, but I can do that later.

January Ornie

I have a few different projects going that need to be finished by the end of the month, so I also jumped in a bit early to stitch my January ornament. I stitched Winter's Eve by Country Cottage Needleworks. It's from the 2006 JCS Ornament issue.

I stitched it using the suggested fabric (28-count natural Cashel) and fibers (DMC, WDW, and CC). It took just over 7 hours of total stitching time.

I'm doing a private ornament RR with a few of my stitching friends. This is the design I chose to kit up for everyone. Being in this RR and this SAL should really help me meet my goal to stitching more ornaments this year.
