Christmas Image Swap #2

Anyone care to participate in a Christmas image swap?

Here are the details:

Comment on this post if you want to swap images with a partner.

Please email me at cardinspired@gmail.com with the following information:

Name
Mailing address
Email address
Blog url if you have a blog
PCP url if you don't have a blog

Send your partner a minimum of 5 stamped Christmas images on white card stock. If possible, don't ink your image with dye ink. Some sort of permanent ink lik Stazon or any brand of pigment ink is preferrable. They are more compatible with different coloring mediums.

If you don't receive your image from your partner, you will need to contact your partner via email.

Please be courteous and do send your images as promised to you partner. I've participated and organized swaps and I've had swappers express their disappointments in not receiving their item from their partners.

Anyway. . .if you want to participate, comment below and send the info I requested via email. Please comment and email your information by June 10. After June 10th, I will provide your partner's information to you and from there you will work with your partner on determining what images you prefer if you do have a preference.

Hope you'll play along!

I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends!

Welcome to my dear friend named Kilz! I have come to love Kilz, a latex primer that works great for so many painting projects! It has become my best friend when restoring WALLS and FURNITURE from dark permanent markers and crayons and everything else!

This dresser has had some rough years with my little boys. My boys have colored on it, and have also put stickers and of course engraved their name! The picture doesn't show you all the crayola marks, inside the drawers are some painted masterpieces!

I decided to take it over and I painted it black with off white for the drawers! I'm going to do some decorative painting on the drawers. I now use it in my sewing room! The boys have bigger closets with a lot of shelves, so good bye to dressers!

I also covered it with a thick glass that you can easily have cut to size from any glass or hardware store! I also added one of my pieced quilts underneath the glass! My new dresser works great for organizing fabric and I love the glass top!

You can change your fabrics and also use pictures and other seasonal decor under the glass!
Kilz works well for many projects! I rarely sand down furniture! Happy Painting!

"Sew" Happy!

Welcome Summer, polka dots and pink daisys!

Today, we created a few skirts for one little happy girl that loves to play in skirts! They are "sew" fun to make! The "Fairycastle" skirt turned out pretty long and it is a very full skirt! The little girl wanted it long like a princess! It's a party skirt!

When she puts her skirt on, the magic begins! She can't hold still! She brings a smile to my face! I don't think I've ever mentioned how fun it is to have a little girl! =)

Since we had so much fun making the "fairy castle" skirt, we couldn't resist making a "Hi-Ho cherry-O" skirt! This skirt is not as full and has a drop waist, it is a great skirt for everyday-comfortable! Through trial and error, we have our sizes figured out! These skirts are great for summer and fast to make, you can make a skirt within an hour!
There is a great patchwork little girls skirt with tuitorial directions from Moda Bake Shop.com
You will find a printer friendly pattern that is easy to follow and so cute!
Happy sewing! Let the magic begin!

Debbie's Color Combo Challenge #17 (05-18-09)

*****Debbie of "the Paper Garden" will be hosting our challenges every 3rd week of the month and this week her challenge is a color combo challenge! Whoohoo!!

We want to welcome a new member of our design team: America of Cards by America! Whoohoo! America is a very talented card maker and her cards as with the other team members will surely inspire you to create your Christmas cards early this year!! Welcome America!

This week's challenge is a color combo challenge. The color combo is: Sage, Chocolate, Peach.

Debbie here...If you like to use Stampin up colors, you can also use SU!'s Groovy Guava, Appricot Appeal or Cameo Coral for your peach. I am excited to be helping Maria host these challenges. I won't always choose colors for my challenges. I realize these aren't traditional Christmas colors, but sometimes it's just fun to shake things up. I can't wait to see what you all create.

For those who wants a sketch to follow, I provided a sketch. The sketch is not part of the challenge.
