Gwen Stefani show off matching six-packs in St Barts

After spending a cold Christmas in the UK, Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin Rossdale would have been forgiven for putting on a few extra pounds.

But the couple are instead sporting matching six-packs as they stroll the beaches of St Barts in the Caribbean.

And there is no sign of a turkey tummy or mince pie love handle anywhere.

The No Doubt front-woman wore a tiny red bikini during a family day out on the beach, where they built sandcastles with three-year-old son Kingston and 15-month-old Zuma.

And the 40-year-old mother-of-two showed off a figure most women half her age would be proud of, Gavin also cut a honed and toned figure.

The 42-year-old Londoner, who fronted the band Bush and is also the father of model Daisy Lowe, showed off his six-pack in white and black board shorts as he strolled along the sand and played with their children.

Gwen certainly seemed to think he was looking good. The couple seemed happy, relaxed and in love after almost eight years of marriage.

She also seemed to relish her role and mothered her family, making they all protected themselves in the hot sunshine and slathering sun lotion on herself and on husband Gavin's nose.

The family has decamped to St Barts for New Year after spending this Christmas in London.

Beyonce and Prince also performed and among the 250 guests there were Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and his girlfriend Miranda Kerr, Marc Jacobs, Eddie Murphy, Jon Bon Jovi and Marvin Hume from JLS.

Last year the family were in LA for the festive season, but Rossdale revealed: 'We alternate each year. Last year we stayed in the Los Angeles area, but now we're excited about having an old-fashioned, European holiday.'

The family's London home was burgled in September.

Thieves smashed the front door down and the flat they let to Dame Elizabeth Forgan, head of the Arts Council, was broken into.

However the burglars were unable to break into the flat shared by Stefani and her family.
