Mar 2/10

Watching the Olympic Games for hours on end gave me lots of stitching time as well! Here are the results:

"Snow Merry" by Homespun Elegance was stitched on a mystery piece of 14 count Aida that I found in my pile of stuff and stitched with mystery threads.

"Peace" by Blackbird Designs was stitched on 14 count Aida with mystery threads during the men's curling gold medal game which I watched with a handful of fellow curlers at the local curling club.

Both designs are from JCS 2009 Ornament edition.

Another Christmas Ornament

Hi Everyone,
I finished another ornament this morning. It's from the JCS 2008 Christmas Ornaments magazine by Blackbird Designs. Stitched on 30 count Kortys Special Blend by R & R Reproductions with DMC Threads. It measures 3 inches wide by 3 & 1/2 inches long.
Happy Stitching, Sue in Australia.

May/June Ornament & Card

Hi Everyone,
As I was away on holidays the first half of May and sick the second half I am a bit behind with my ornaments. Although I did manage to stitch 2 cards, which are from the Christmas Miniatures Leaflet by The Prairie Schooler, stitched on 25 count Evenweave with DMC threads.
I'm not sure how I will 'ornamentify' the beautiful bird yet, he is from the JCS 2004 Christmas Ornaments issue by Blackbird Designs. Stitched on 32 count ivory Jobelan with DMC threads and Kreinik gold for the stars.
For those of you who have the pattern I left out the Noel (noelle) because my DH asked why the bird's named Noel. Men!!
Happy Stitching, Sue in Australia.

at long last, an update

I have been stitching ornaments, really. But finishing ... sigh ... remains a bit of a weak spot with me. But here are pictures of a few ornaments I finished yesterday and today. I'm not ready to turn pro, but I think they look okay. :D

The designers are, in order: Blackbird Designs, Birds of a Feather, Heart in Hand,
and Prairie Schooler.

House on Holly Hill

This is my May ornament.
It's House on Holly Hill, from the book Peppermint and Holly by Blackbird Designs.
I have stitched it on a 28ct Cashel linen Fern from Silkweaver and used the Weeks Dye Works threads requested, but changed the word on the left.

The back fabric is a Kogut Wintertime Friends Labels Multi on Tangerine.
