EastEnders soap star Sid Owen sleeps in a separate bed than his longtime girlfriend, 26-year-old Polly Parsons, but that didn't stop the pair from secretly getting engaged six months ago. Nor did it stop them from postponing a planned September ceremony after a two-month split earlier this year.
Owen, 38, who is also a former British pop star, proposed to Parsons while on holiday in Barbados six months ago. Owen and Parsons tell OK! about the romantic proposal.
"There was a raft out at sea which we'd swim out to," says Owen. "I didn't have a ring so I got this guy on the beach to make one out of beads in the reggae colours, as I love my reggae, and I put that in my back pocket and we swam out there and I proposed."
"It was really romantic," says Parsons.
'Romantic' does little to describe how this happy couple spend their nights - apart, in separate bedrooms. Then again, Parsons reasoning for sleeping alone may have a lot to do with why they're so blissfully happy these days.
"He snores like a rhino," she says. "After we went traveling I had to be honest with him about it," says Polly, 'and he said he liked having his own bed anyway so it was perfect. I'll stay in Sid's bed watching TV cuddling. If I fall asleep in his room I soon hear him snoring and get up anyway and go into my room. People think it's weird but it works for us."
The couple were originally planning to wed in September but split when the pressure of pulling together the big day became too much for Parsons. "We had about a thousand people coming! It would have been about everyone else - now we've had time apart, we know what's important. It just started to get out of hand and it scared me."
During their time apart, Owen took off for a detox centre in Thailand, but the couple say they spoke daily in order to get their relationship back on track. As for where and when the couple will finally wed, the couple tells OK! they plan to take their time and will wed "maybe next year."
But they'll have to compromise - Owen wants a wedding at his 600-year-old farmhouse in France, but Polly wants to return to Barbados.

Konnie Huq and Charlie Brooker elope in Las Vegas
In order to avoid the attention of a celebrity wedding, seeming odd couple Konnie Huq of TV's X Factor and acerbic TV critic Charlie Brooker eloped in Las Vegas on Monday, July 26th.
A friend told the Mirror, “They wanted to marry as soon as possible and managed to squeeze a few days out of their schedules. It was simple and elegant. Konnie wore a white dress and Charlie wore a suit. They’re blissfully happy and are thrilled to be married.”
They had reportedly intended to wed earlier this year after secretly dating for nine months, but pushed it back when Huq signed on to host The Xtra Factor. Of their percieved differences, Huq told in a recent interview, “We’re not ‘opposites attract’ as people think. I’ve got an evil sense of humour and Charlie’s more of a softie than you’d think.”

Jesse Csincsak & Ann Lueders wed in Vegas
Former stars of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Jesse Csincsak and Ann Lueders were married at Las Vegas' Rumor Hotel on Saturday, August 28.
The night before, Csincsak followed up a poolside rehearsal barbeque with a bachelor party at Vanity nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, telling People of his wedding day, "I've waited for this moment my whole life!"
The outdoor ceremony was attended by friends including fellow Bachelor alums Jason Mesnick and wife Molly Malaney, Vienna Girardi, and current Bachelor Pad housemates Jesse Kovacs and Natalie Getz. Olympic bronze medallist Louie Vito, fellow snowboarder Csincsak's childhood friend, also attended.
Mesnick and Csincsak both vied for DeAnna Pappas' affections on The Bachelorette, then Ann Lueders participated in Mesnick's season of The Bachelor. "I'm ecstatic," he told People. "Jesse and I have this weird history because two years ago when we were doing The Bachelorette, we said we were going to be there for each other at our weddings no matter what. At the time we thought it was going to be somebody else, obviously. In a small, strange way he ends up marrying someone from my Bachelor season, and it's just come full circle."
The party continued Sunday with a public pool party at the Rumor Hotel. "I'm just loving life," Csinscak told People. "I have a gorgeous, gorgeous bride. I'm so psyched. The whole weekend has gone by so quickly. I haven't had a minute to nap or anything. I think I've had 12 hours of sleep in three days."
Lueders and Csincsak will head off for a honeymoon at "a secret location," before settling at home in Colorado with their two dogs and son Noah, expected this winter. They announced their engagement August 6th; it's the first marriage for both.

Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer want honeymoon "soon"
Married last weekend, True Blood costars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer revealed on last night's Emmy Awards red carpet that they hope to take a honeymoon, but haven't planned one yet.
"Hopefully soon," Paquin told Ryan Seacrest before last night's big show (True Blood came up empty-handed), citing work for the honeymoon hold up.
Of the pap-heavy wedding, held at a private home in Malibu, Moyer said, "It was lovely. It was shared with a few thousand friends and family. It was a great day. Just, it couldn't have been better."

BBUK 2010 winner to marry her 'showmance'?
Just last week, UK Big Brother crowned Josie Gibson, 25, the winner of the final series of the British reality TV program, which has been a huge hit there since it debuted a decade ago. While inside the house, she got close to fellow finalist, 24-year-old Aussie John James Parton, and now the Daily Mail says insiders claim they're engaged.
Though the couple have not confirmed reports they're engaged, they have both alluded to the possibility. In an interview with Britain's Daily Star this weekend, Gibson said, "I want John James to be my husband. It's always been in the back of my mind. I've never loved someone like this. My mum has given us her blessing as well. I spoke to her about our plans and she says she loves him."
From the same article, Parton said, "I want to get married too. I was thinking about it while we were in the house. Josie is definitely marriage material and I really love her."
No matter whether or not it's true - Big Brother showmances generally don't last. In the UK version, only Grace Adams-Short and Mikey Dalton's relationship lasted - they wed last year after meeting on the 2006 series. In the US version, no showmances have reached the altar, but 2009's supercouple, Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd, are still going strong.

First Top Chef winner to wed
At last night's Emmy Awards, Bravo reality show Top Chef nabbed the Best Reality Competition Program statue from The Amazing Race for the first time in the categories history, and now the show's first winner has announced he's getting married - and without the show, he may never have met his bride-to-be.
Manhattan-based chef Harold Dieterle won Top Chef in 2006, and one of his prizes was a trip to the Food + Wine Expo in Aspen, Colorado. At an event after-party he met Atlanta native Meredith Davies.
Dieterle and Davies will wed at the Capital City Country Club in Brookhaven, near Atlanta, Georgia on September 4th, and will honeymoon in Rome, Positano, and Sicily.

UK's 'Combat Barbie' gets married
Katrina Hodge, reigning Miss England and so-called Combat Barbie due to her status as Lance Corporal in the British Army, took the nation by storm when she showed that women in the military could also be drop-dead gorgeous.
Hodge secretly married fiance Neil (also a military man, whose last name can't be revealed for security purposes) in Sri Lanka in June for friends and family, after registering the marriage in Brighton, England in April. Neil is said to have proposed after the Miss England contest last July, where Hodge placed second. She gained the crown in November after the winner, Rachel Christie, was caught fighting in a nightclub brawl and stripped of the title.
Part of the rules of being Miss England and a potential Miss World candidate include being a single woman - but because she was crowned in November and the Miss World pageant took place in December 2009, before the June wedding, Hodge broke no rules. Still, she kept the marriage a secret until her reign as Miss England came to an official end.
The Daily Mail quotes Hodge as saying, "I'm just pleased my secret is out in the open now. I wanted to do my duty as Miss England and even though the wedding was planned, I had to keep it a secret until now because having the Miss England crown meant so much to me."
Hodge is said to have worn a recycled wedding dress for the ceremony, and may reveal her gown at a Miss England Eco party in Birmingham tomorrow.

Ali & Roberto would love to elope
Echoing the sentiments of many newly-engaged and overwhelmed couples, Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky and her fiance, Roberto Martinez, would be happy to elope if it wouldn't disappoint their relatives.
“I think we would do just that,” Fedotowsky told People last week. “Obviously we want to share it with our family, so we’re not going to do that. But it’s so funny — I’ve even caught myself saying, ‘This is my husband Roberto.’ I always thought it would be funny to even think or say that, but if anything, I feel like it’s hard for me not to say it.”
Fedotowsky added, “Planning a wedding is a lot, and we don’t want to go through all the motions. We just want to be married. We’re just excited for that. We’re like, ‘Let’s be married — right now!’"
Fedotowsky and Martinez are currently trying to put together a spring 2011 wedding ceremony, and Fedotowsky is leaning toward wearing Monique Lhuillier on her wedding day.

Carmen of Beyond the Fringe Crafts
Hello, my name is Carmen. My earliest memory of scrapbooking goes back to before it was considered a craft. I had a photo album to which I added cartoon cut-outs, Chinese money bags, four leaf clovers and whatever else appealed to me at the time. Officially, I have been scrapbooking about 7 years, with a more recent focus on card making. I’ve always been a creative person who loves to sew, make soap and play classical guitar. I write short stories, poems and non-fiction articles as well, and I love to read!
This experience involved a few firsts for me, as it was my first time being a guest designer, my first time using digital stamps, and my first time using alcohol ink markers. I really enjoyed the process of putting this together, and I hope you like the card I designed! It was created with my son in mind, who just bought a new home. The sentiment reads, Congratulations on your new ‘pad.’
Thanks so much for the opportunity to participate!
