Oasis' Noel Gallagher weds - but brother Liam 'too busy' to attend

Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has had a notoriously stormy relationship in the spotlight with his brother and former bandmate Liam, further evident this weekend when Liam was "too busy" to attend the wedding of his brother to Scottish publicist Sarah MacDonald at New Forest National Park.

The rocker paid GBP60,000 for exclusive access to the luxury Lime Wood Hotel and its 16 rooms inside the park, arriving by car on Friday ahead of the Saturday ceremony, where guests were entertained by a bagpiper and comedian Russell Brand. Jazz signer Jamie Cullum and model Sophie Dahl were married at the 13th Century estate in January 2010.

Gallagher wore a light-grey suit with white shirt and black tie, while MacDonald wore a full-length white dress with long sleeves - de riguer again following the Duchess of Cambridge's long-sleeved Grace Kelly-inspired Sarah Burton creation.

Younger brother Liam, whose Valentine's Day registry office wedding to British pop star Nicole Appleton in 2008 went off without Noel's attendance, is currently touring with new band Beady Eye. Liam has admitted the brothers don't see eye to eye and prefer not to speak to one another. They haven't spoken in two years and allegedly use Twitter to communicate.

Noel was previously married to interior designer Meg Matthews, with whom he has daughter Anais, 11. Their marriage ended after he met MacDonald at a party in Ibiza, Spain in June 2000. He has sons Rory,3, and eight-month-old Sonny with MacDonald.

Christine Bleakley shows off engagement ring!

Arriving back in London from a US vacation in L.A. and Las Vegas with footballer Frank Lampard, TV presenter Christine Bleakley smiled for photographers as she showed off her huge GBP120,000 ring - which she has called a bit too big!

Lampard, a striker with the English national team and Chelsea in the English Premiere League, reportedly spent almost three months planning a the romantic two-week getaway and proposal - though Bleakley told her cohorts on breakfast show Daybreak that the moment was "not very fancy. It was very personal, very private actually, and we were just having a gorgeous lunch by the beach [in Los Angeles] and he simply popped the question. It was completely out of the blue.

"Halfway through the lovey-dovey bit, I realized what he was about to do so I started to cry for about ten minutes and then he pulled out the ring and said, 'Will you marry me?' And that was it."

Though the couple haven't set a date for the wedding, Bleakley says she'd like a small and private wedding in her hometown of Newtownards in Northern Ireland.

It's also been reported that the couple have already been turning down splashy magazine deals to showcase their wedding photos, wishing instead just to share the day with loved ones.

A source told the Sunday Mirror today, "Christine can't wait to get married and Frank has said whatever she wants is fine by him. Money obviously isn't a problem and Frank wants everything to be perfect for Christine. It isn't going to be some tacky celebrity wedding. This is a day purely about them and for their families and close friends."

This will be the first marriage for both, though Lampard was once engaged to Spanish model Elen Rives, with whom he has daughters Luna, 4, and Isla, 3.

Diana's brother weds for third time

Though Charles, Earl Spencer, and his new bride were guests at his nephew's April 29th royal wedding, the newly minted Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did not attend the earl's June 18th wedding to Canadian-born philanthropist Karen Gordon at the Spencer family home, Althorp House in Northamptonshire, England.

The remains of Spencer's older sister, Princess Diana, are buried on the estate.

Gordon's white lace gown featured a v-neckline and fitted bodice, and she carried a bouquet of cream and white flowers. Spencer, making his third trip to the altar, wore a navy pinstripe suit for the ceremony, described as private and attended by only close family and friends - like his four children with first wife Victoria Lockwood - Lady Kitty, 20, Ladies Eliza and Amelia, 18, and son Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp, 16, who spend most of their time in Cape Town with their mother. Also in attendance were his two children with second wife Caroline Freud - The Honourable Edmund, 7, and Lady Lara Spencer, 4, and Gordon's two teenage daughters with first husband, Hollywood producer Mark Gordon.

Though it's just Earl Spencer's third marriage, he was briefly engaged to Lady Bianca Elliot in 2010. He announced his engagement to Gordon, a former fashion model, in February of this year.

Lily Allen's English country wedding

Days after her June 11th wedding to fiance Sam Cooper, English singer-songwriter Lily Allen unveiled her updated Twitter handle - @lilyroseallen traded in her old account to become @lilyrosecooper - and in a public message thanked friends, family, and more for her perfect day. 'I had the most amazing wedding,' she Tweeted. 'Thank you to everyone who went to such extraordinary efforts to make it that way.'

The couple exchanged vows at St. James the Great Church in the village of Cranham, near Stroud, in Gloucestershire. Allen wore a custom-made vintage lace gown by French designer Delphine Manivet, quashing reports that the dress would be made by her close friend, Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Allen's wedding day was made even more special for family and friends when Cooper announced at the wedding breakfast that his new wife is over three months pregnant - welcome news after the couple lost their first child, a boy, when she was six months pregnant last November. "There were tears all around," a friend told the Daily Mail of the announcement. "This is the happiest day of Lily and Sam's lives and they are so in love. This is the icing on the wedding cake!"

Allen and builder Cooper met at the Glastonbury rock festival in Scotland in June 2009, following relationships with higher profile men including Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers - with whom she suffered a first miscarriage in early 2008. They announced their engagement in January after he proposed over the Christmas holidays, solidifying their union amid their heartbreak.

UPDATE: Fearne Cotton engaged

Over the weekend, British music TV/radio host Fearne Cotton, 29, got engaged to her skater boyfriend of the past two years, Jesse Jenkins, Friday night - her 29th birthday. Cotton stepped out of the BBC Radio 1 studios on Monday with a diamond ring (among others) on her left hand.

Sources claim that Jenkins, 24, led Cotton, blindfolded, to London's Richmond Park, where he reportedly got down on one knee and proposed.

"Fearne was so touched at how Jesse did it - it was really romantic. It was a big shock for everyone but Fearne is ecstatic. It was the last thing that she was expecting but she didn't hesitate to say yes. She is so excited about being engaged that she hasn't even thought about the wedding - that will be something she thinks about later," says the source.

Cotton's rep confirmed the rumours late yesterday. It will be the first marriage for both.

The presenter has always spoken of her desire for marriage and family. "I've always been broody. Having a family of my own is really important, more than anything. I think that's what it's all about, isn't it? It's about finding a life partner who's your best friend. What's the point of doing great things at work if you don't have someone to share it with?"

British actress Amanda Redman marries in English countryside

British actress Amanda Redman, star of the TV series New Tricks, was married on Saturday, September 4 to her boyfriend of 12 years. Damian Schnabel, at 13th Century Maunsel House in Taunton, Somerset.

Redman, 53, and 38-year-old Schnabel were married in front of 200 friends and family. Schnabel wore a blue suit, and Redman donned a halterneck gown by British designed Ritva Westenius. To prepare for the wedding day, Redman had been hitting the gym for two and a half hours five days a week, and had banned carbs and wine from her diet.

Guests including actors Ray Winstone, who did a reading at the ceremony, and Sheila Hancock, as well as New Tricks costars Dennis Waterman, Alun Armstong, and James Bolam, attended the outdoor ceremony and "boozy" reception, held on the manor grounds under a wood patio ("pegola").

Last week, Redman admitted that the wedding would be alcohol-friendly: "We are having a lot of booze and my horror would be to run out. We always hold parties at our house and we want people to have fun. I would be horrified if they stood there thinking they wanted to go home."

The bride's attendants were her two best friends, Freda and Liz, and her 23-year-old daughter daughter Emily Glenister - who sang for the couple at the reception to accompagny the first dance. Emily is Redman's daughter with first husband Robert Glenister, to whom she was married from 1984 to 1992.

Redman and Schnabel, a cell-phone designer, met in 199 and dated until 2003. They reunited in 2006 and earlier this year announced their engagement while on holiday last year.

In a recent interview with Good Housekeeping magazine, Redman said of the couple's 15-year age difference,
"I'm the one giving him a young outlook - he's like an old man. He's far more grown-up than me and that works brilliantly. To have someone who's more mature than me in every way apart from physically is marvellous, frankly."

Last month, Redman and 13 friends travelled to Brussels for a blue-themed hen's weekend.

Katy Perry wants dual citizenship with marriage to Russell Brand

Promoting her latest album in Britain this past week, singer Katy Perry told Channel 4 that she would eventually like to get her dual citizenship once she marries British comedian Russell Brand.

“I love London and just being here. I’ve decided that when the day does come, I will become a dual citizen. Then I can just pass through Customs real quick. You’ve already kind of adopted me so maybe I don’t have to go through all the paperwork?”

As California preacher's daughter Katy assimilates into life with wild, raunchy Brand, she reveals that she recently dyed her black hair with streaks of claret and blue - the colours of Brand's beloved football team, West Ham United. She also expressed her disappointment that she can't get her West Ham official toaster to properly burn the team logo on her toast. “I can’t get the imprints on the toast, it’s so depressed."

Brit Shameless star Tina Malone's gastric band success for wedding day

British actress Tina Malone, 47, a star of the comedy Shameless since 2005, was fitted with a gastric band to aid in her weight loss in March, and by her wedding day in Manchester, England on Saturday, August 28th she had lost over 60 lbs. It was the first time in years that Malone could fit into a size 14 (size 10 in North America).

A guest told the Manchester Evening News, “In her regal cream dress she literally looked half her age and looked tiny after losing all that weight, she really was the most beautiful bride. ”

Malone married personal trainer Paul Chase, 28, who at 19 years younger than Malone is the same age as her daughter, Danielle. They met in 2009 after Malone, at her heaviest, was evicted from the UK's Celebrity Big Brother.

Defending the age difference, Malone tells Closer magazine, "People had plenty to say about the age difference, but at the end of the day, love is love, isn’t it?"

Brit soap star's dramatic real-life romance leads to engagement announcement

EastEnders soap star Sid Owen sleeps in a separate bed than his longtime girlfriend, 26-year-old Polly Parsons, but that didn't stop the pair from secretly getting engaged six months ago. Nor did it stop them from postponing a planned September ceremony after a two-month split earlier this year.

Owen, 38, who is also a former British pop star, proposed to Parsons while on holiday in Barbados six months ago. Owen and Parsons tell OK! about the romantic proposal.

"There was a raft out at sea which we'd swim out to," says Owen. "I didn't have a ring so I got this guy on the beach to make one out of beads in the reggae colours, as I love my reggae, and I put that in my back pocket and we swam out there and I proposed."

"It was really romantic," says Parsons.

'Romantic' does little to describe how this happy couple spend their nights - apart, in separate bedrooms. Then again, Parsons reasoning for sleeping alone may have a lot to do with why they're so blissfully happy these days.

"He snores like a rhino," she says. "After we went traveling I had to be honest with him about it," says Polly, 'and he said he liked having his own bed anyway so it was perfect. I'll stay in Sid's bed watching TV cuddling. If I fall asleep in his room I soon hear him snoring and get up anyway and go into my room. People think it's weird but it works for us."

The couple were originally planning to wed in September but split when the pressure of pulling together the big day became too much for Parsons. "We had about a thousand people coming! It would have been about everyone else - now we've had time apart, we know what's important. It just started to get out of hand and it scared me."

During their time apart, Owen took off for a detox centre in Thailand, but the couple say they spoke daily in order to get their relationship back on track. As for where and when the couple will finally wed, the couple tells OK! they plan to take their time and will wed "maybe next year."

But they'll have to compromise - Owen wants a wedding at his 600-year-old farmhouse in France, but Polly wants to return to Barbados.

Konnie Huq and Charlie Brooker elope in Las Vegas

In order to avoid the attention of a celebrity wedding, seeming odd couple Konnie Huq of TV's X Factor and acerbic TV critic Charlie Brooker eloped in Las Vegas on Monday, July 26th.

A friend told the Mirror, “They wanted to marry as soon as possible and managed to squeeze a few days out of their schedules. It was simple and elegant. Konnie wore a white dress and Charlie wore a suit. They’re blissfully happy and are thrilled to be married.”

They had reportedly intended to wed earlier this year after secretly dating for nine months, but pushed it back when Huq signed on to host The Xtra Factor. Of their percieved differences, Huq told in a recent interview,
“We’re not ‘opposites attract’ as people think. I’ve got an evil sense of humour and Charlie’s more of a softie than you’d think.”

BBUK 2010 winner to marry her 'showmance'?

Just last week, UK Big Brother crowned Josie Gibson, 25, the winner of the final series of the British reality TV program, which has been a huge hit there since it debuted a decade ago. While inside the house, she got close to fellow finalist, 24-year-old Aussie John James Parton, and now the Daily Mail says insiders claim they're engaged.

Though the couple have not confirmed reports they're engaged, they have both alluded to the possibility. In an interview with Britain's Daily Star this weekend, Gibson said, "I want John James to be my husband. It's always been in the back of my mind. I've never loved someone like this. My mum has given us her blessing as well. I spoke to her about our plans and she says she loves him."

From the same article, Parton said, "I want to get married too. I was thinking about it while we were in the house. Josie is definitely marriage material and I really love her."

No matter whether or not it's true - Big Brother showmances generally don't last. In the UK version, only Grace Adams-Short and Mikey Dalton's relationship lasted - they wed last year after meeting on the 2006 series. In the US version, no showmances have reached the altar, but 2009's supercouple, Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd, are still going strong.

UK's 'Combat Barbie' gets married

Katrina Hodge, reigning Miss England and so-called Combat Barbie due to her status as Lance Corporal in the British Army, took the nation by storm when she showed that women in the military could also be drop-dead gorgeous.

Hodge secretly married fiance Neil (also a military man, whose last name can't be revealed for security purposes) in Sri Lanka in June for friends and family, after registering the marriage in Brighton, England in April. Neil is said to have proposed after the Miss England contest last July, where Hodge placed second. She gained the crown in November after the winner, Rachel Christie, was caught fighting in a nightclub brawl and stripped of the title.

Part of the rules of being Miss England and a potential Miss World candidate include being a single woman - but because she was crowned in November and the Miss World pageant took place in December 2009, before the June wedding, Hodge broke no rules. Still, she kept the marriage a secret until her reign as Miss England came to an official end.

The Daily Mail quotes Hodge as saying, "I'm just pleased my secret is out in the open now. I wanted to do my duty as Miss England and even though the wedding was planned, I had to keep it a secret until now because having the Miss England crown meant so much to me."

Hodge is said to have worn a recycled wedding dress for the ceremony, and may reveal her gown at a Miss England Eco party in Birmingham tomorrow.

Robbie Williams had secret "honey half-moon" before wedding

Britain's The Mirror is reporting that before Robbie Williams married girlfriend Ayda Field at their home in Beverly Hills, he whisked her away to the Hotel La Residencia in Majorca, Spain - a former home of billionaire Richard Branson. The luxurious villa features a private hot tub, stunning sea views, and is set among olive and citrus orchards.

The couple honeymooned before the ceremony in order to avoid the media attention that would follow the announcement of the wedding. An insider tells The Mirror

"The couple wanted to luxuriate in being man and wife, away from prying eyes. They are both home-lovers at heart. Their pre-wedding break. Robbie was a real softie. He kept surprising Ayda with flowers, small gifts and notes the entire time."

Friends have reportedly dubbed their getaway "the honey half-moon."

The couple dined more than once at the hotel's El Olivo restaurant, and one night, the insider says, Williams serenaded Field in front of other guests and received a standing ovation.

Katy Perry & Russell Brand top wedding to crash, says Press Association

A recent poll by the UK Press Association found that 26 per cent of Brits would like to attend the wedding of Russell Brand and Katy Perry, beating our Prince William and Kate Middleton (13 per cent) and even Brad and Angelina. Other British celebrity couples fared less well - only three per cent of respondents are interested in attending the wedding of footballer Frank Lampard and TV host Christine Bleakley.

Some rumours have suggested that the wedding of Brand, 34, and 25-year-old Perry may have already taken place, though the singer has said it will take place later this year - even though she says she has no time to plan it. One thing is for certain - Perry won't be wearing latex.

Ringless Abbey Clancy still won't comment on status of relationship with Peter Crouch

British model/TV presenter Abbey Clancy is turning up everywhere without her engagement ring from Team England footballer Peter Crouch following revelations earlier this month that he's a cheating rat - namely a rat who bedded a teenage prostitute. But Clancy won't comment one way or another in regards to whether or not the pair are together or splitting - and friends tell The Daily Mail that's because "She feels very lost."

Adds the source, "Abbey is throwing herself back into work to take her mind off the painful situation. She still feels so angry, and isn't really speaking to Pete. She's also terrified of taking him back and then finding out there have been more girls. Abbey is feeling exhausted, anxious and tearful. She's said that things will now go either way but that it will work out for the best. She's going through so many different emotions at the moment - it's tough but she's a fighter. She's not gong to be easy on Pete, that's for sure."

Clancy has previously spoken of her trust in Crouch, once telling OK!: "There are loads of footballers who are happily married and you don't hear anything about them. Everyone chats Peter up, and it doesn't matter if I'm there or not. It amuses me and Peter doesn't take any notice of them."

Follow Elin and Sandra's lead and dump him, Abbey! No one needs that kind of crap!

Jude Law and Sienna Miller reportedly joined in traditional Baci marriage blessing

It's not a legally recognized wedding in their home country, the United Kingdom, but The Daily Mail reports that British actors Jude Law and Sienna Miller were blessed in a traditional Baci ceremony while on holiday in Laos in April. The couple were on holiday at the deluxe Amantaka Hotel in Luang Prabang, the capital.

In the ceremony, a village shaman joins the wrists with string and gifts the couple with red and white string bracelets to mark the union. Law was spotted wearing a red and white string bracelet at the 2010 Tony Awards in May.

The Mail claims that the couple - who have yet to announce an engagement - are planning a larger ceremony for family and friends to take place in the next few months.

Law and Miller have dated on-and-off since 2005, and were previously engaged, but split when it was revealed he had slept with the nanny of his children with ex-wife Sadie Frost - Rafferty, 13, Iris, 9, and Rudy, 7. He also father a child with American Samantha Burke in 2009 - daughter Sophia Lee Burke.

Royal cousin claims William and Kate engaged already, will marry in July

A royal cousin is about to get a royal lashing - Prince Julius Eduard von Anhalt, Duke of Saxony, has told a British magazine that Prince William and his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton are already engaged and plan to announce it this fall - with a July wedding date in the works.

Prince Eduard refused to provide proof of invitation and refused to give the exact date of the ceremony, saying it was confidential. Which, in my experience, means he should have just kept his mouth shut entirely. Guess the man needs money, even if his invitation to the wedding of the decade is about to be revoked. A German publication is now speculating that the ceremony could take place on July 29th - the same day Charles wed Diana in 1981.

According to Eduard, the pair were engaged over the summer after "Kate issued William with an ultimatum: we marry or we break up. There are obviously no more objections from the public, so the engagement is set for this autumn. The wedding is set for July."

However, a source close to Prince William last night threw water on the flames, saying, "This gentleman does not know what he is talking about. Prince William has probably not even heard of him. The engagement is still an if, not a when."

Guess those bookies still have something to shoot for, then!

Kate Moss marriage rumours continue...

You know, it must be fun being Kate Moss over in England. No matter who she dates, no matter what she does, if there is a ring on any one of her fingers, she must be getting married - even if she's never done it before and she's never led anyone to believe she was all that interested in actually being married - especially with the caliber of men she tends to go out with.

Which is not to say that British rock musician Jamie Hince of The Kills is in any way comparable to the disaster that is Pete Doherty, who dated Moss on and off for years.

This week in Italy, Moss was spotted with Hince at the annual horse races in Siena, and The Daily Mail pointed out that the couple were wearing similar rings on their "wedding fingers," to match the matching anchor tattoos on their left wrists. However, a friend told the Mail, "Kate and Jamie are closer than ever. They aren't married yet. It definitely looks like they are practicing for married life!"

Though the couple has never confirmed it, the Mail reported in February that Hince proposed to Moss on her 36th birthday earlier this year. Despite having a reportedly tempestuous relationship ever since meeting in September 2007, sources say that Hince has been a good influence on Moss, who has struggled with drug and alcohol in the past. Also, friends claim he gets along well with Moss' eight-year-old daughter, Lila, with magazine publisher Jefferson Hack.

Katy Perry won't wear a latex wedding dress

Katy Perry and Russell Brand are said to be tying the knot before the end of the year, but the pair have done their best to keep many of the details private.

However, perry felt the need to set the record straight on one rumour in particular in a recent interview with People. "I'm definitely not going to get married in latex! When I wear latex onstage, I sweat. I could wring out those dresses – and I don't want to do that at my wedding."

Perry and Brand were engaged over the New Year's break in Jaipur, India - the trip was his Christmas gift to the singer. This will be the first marriage for the "I Kissed A Girl" preacher's daughter and the formerly drug and sex-addicted British comedian.

Wedding bells for Geri Halliwell?

Following a short-lived engagement to Italian businessman Fabrizio Politi in early 2009, Spice Girl Geri Halliwell began dating wealthy aristocrat Henry Beckwith in April, and now British tabs are reporting that the couple are planning to wed.

Spotted at St. John Parish Church in Hampstead, London, with longtime friend Kenny Goss (George Michael's long-term partner, in spite of Michael's need to have sex with strange men in park bushes), Halliwell reportedly met with the church vicar for an hour, after which she and Goss headed straight to boutique tailor Thom Sweeney.

The source tailing the pair asked, "Who should we be congratulating on the wedding?" Goss immediately pointed at Halliwell before catching himself and saying: "Erm, I mean both of us."

"Geri was giggling, and seemed really excited," the source added. "She wouldn't say what they were doing, but Kenny let the cat out the bag."

This would be Halliwell's first marriage. She has a daughter, 3-year-old Bluebell, from a relationship with screenwriter Sacha Gervasi.
