Happy Easter!

Feb Ornie - Winter

I stitched this recently, but finished it up this weekend. It's Spot of Winter, by The Drawn Thread. Thanks for listing me in the Featured Stitchers this month , it was fun to see my name there :)

Better late than never

JBW designs
28ct cashel linen, antique ivory
WDW kudzu
An oldie, but a goodie :)

PS July Ornie

PS Winter from JCS 2006
I need to catch up 2 ornies, time flies! This isn't the first the first appearance for this as Anita stitched it back in April - the archive is great to look back on for inspiration!

LHN Pear Tree and some progress

Well, this is my April ornie, yep, I'm still making my way through the JCS 2006 ornie issue! I'm getting good value out it :) Love this design, there is a little error on the left of the chart as I think other people have mentioned but nothing serious. I used the recommended fabric and thread, apart from the pot which is GAST Cinnamon because I don't have WDW hazelnut. But just look at it compared to the photo! I'm quite disappointed in the rather overripe looking pears (CC Sassy Brass) which is very brown in places and in the border (CC Joshua Tree) which doesn't really show up at all. Oh well, I guess that's the randomness of variegated threads! I think I might rechristen it 'Little Nut Tree' instead!

I've also made some progress on Praiseworthy Stitches 'The Bird's Carol', I'm really enjoying this and hope to finish it soon, so I'll be one up and perhaps have a month of the SAL for finishing like Nicki suggested.

Have loved seeing all your ornies! Looking forward to next SAL weekend already :)

Made in March honest!

I did actually finish this on the March SAL weekend! This is the first time since then that I've had chance to photograph it (in sunshine no less) and post about it. It's SB from the 2006 JCS ornie mag, I just have to get a charm to go at the top. I really enjoyed stitching this and despite a lot of colour changes it was a quickie stitch. I did make a tiny counting error but I'm not telling where ;) I've loved seeing all your ornies this month, looking forward to the next SAL w/end :)

Blue Ribbon Feb Ornie

Ok, I'm 'fessing up, I've been working on this pretty much since last SAL weekend! I'm a slow stitcher so I thought I would plan ahead and try for a finish during the alloted weekend :) It's a Blue Ribbon Design from - you guessed it - the JCS 2006 magazine. I added 4 Mill Hill antique cranberry beads to the bottom holly row and boy did I have the whole frog chorus at my house several times! It's the most over one I've ever tried too and like Pennie in January I didn't realise this until I got started but I must admit I quite enjoyed it! You may be seeing a lot from this magazine from me cos it's the only one I have ;) Sorry if the photo is not that good, the light is very poor here and so are my photography skills! I've really enjoyed seeing everyone else's postings, will try to add some comments soon. Have fun til next time :)

Another to add to the collection

Well, I just squeeked a finish with this stitching, it's been a busy weekend and it's now 11pm here! Granted it's not a very original choice but I'm really pleased with it, it's a simple design so I didn't change anything as I felt it was best to leave it plain. This is my first SAL and I've really enjoyed seeing everyone else's posts and being part of it.
