New Ornament!

I haven't stitched in ages, but finally finished an ornament. This is from the 2008 JCS issues from the Cat's Whisker's Studio. I stitched the ornament in Vicky Clayton's Deep Ocean and Delica beads instead of the recommended fibres.

August weekend design

This was one of the few SAL scheduled weekends where I was actually not scheduled to work so I took advantage of that and stitched "Heartfelt Harvey" designed by Imaginating, Inc.. The design is from JCS 2008 and was inspired by a style called redwork aka turkeywork. I did not have enough red in my mystery thread pile to do the whole design in one single colour so I played around with the thread and fabric colour.

Two ornament finishes

Before the magazines were published, Sue Hillis asked me to find some fabric and fibres for these two ornament designs. Her local model stitcher had already stitched them on 25 count fabric over 1, but Sue thought they were a bit big, and wanted them done on 28 count fabric.I found the fabric she wanted and brought it to her, and then, silly me, I volunteered to stitch them. Only at the time I didn't realize they were to be done "over one". The stitching wasn't so bad, but the frogging was terrible!

Anyway, the charts can be found in the Just Cross Stitch Ornament Preview Issue and in the Ornament Issue itself. They were done on 28 count Lugana, on white and Victorian Red, with GAST - chalk, and WDW - garnet.

I have sent them off to Sue and she will "finish" them, she is much better at it than I am.

Another Christmas Ornament

Hi Everyone,
I finished another ornament this morning. It's from the JCS 2008 Christmas Ornaments magazine by Blackbird Designs. Stitched on 30 count Kortys Special Blend by R & R Reproductions with DMC Threads. It measures 3 inches wide by 3 & 1/2 inches long.
Happy Stitching, Sue in Australia.

A Christmas Song

I just finished "A Christmas Song" by Lynda Watkins, from Full Circle Designs, from the 2008 JCS ornament issue. It was a lot of fun to stitch up. I did it on a mystery piece of linen, with DMC colors. I didn't have a couple of the colors so I switched them out. I like how it turned out.

2008 JCS Ornament by Shepherd's Bush

This years JCS Shepherd's Bush ornament all stitched. Not sure how I will make it up as yet. I did change the fabric as the listed fabric was very dark and did not show up the darker colours all that well.
