On Saturday, August 28th, actor Brian J. White (of Stomp the Yard and The Wire fame) married his girlfriend Paula Da Silva, a marketing exec, in Beverly Hills. The wedding took place at All Saints Parish Church in the luxury zip code, with a reception that followed at The Foundry on Melrose Avenue, complete with a Polite in Public photobooth - a growing wedding trend among the rich and fabulous. Guests also dined on a wedding cake baked with layers of carrot, red velvet, and marble cake with Kahlua cream frosting.
Da Silva's strapless gown came from R. Mine Bridal.
Of his wedding day, White told HipHollywood.com that he loved sharing the day with everyone he loves in the world, and called himself "blessed" because he got to marry his best friend.
The couple were engaged in January while on vacation on St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. Around that time, White posted the following passage on his Facebook page, calling it, "What falling in love with Paula Da Silva taught me."
“People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so out of control that you have to transform your life…” -Elizabeth GilbertGuests at the ceremony included actors Taraji P. Henson, Columbus Short and Tia Mowry, singers Dave Hollister and Esthero, and director Sylvain White. White once played in the NFL for the New England Patriots, and is the son of retired Boston Celtics star Jo Jo White.
This is the first marriage for both, who are off on a honeymoon in Barbados next week.
